STAKEHOLDER ANALYSIS - KEY TERMS

 

Stakeholders: all those involved in, affected by, or otherwise able to influence the decisions or activities of an organization.

  • Customers/Consumers

  • Shareholders/Owners

  • Managers/Supervisors/Workforce

  • Suppliers/Competitors

  • Governments/Communities/Civil Society

  • Media/Thought leaders/Academics

  • Cultures/Traditions/Tribes

  • Natural environment

  • Future generations

Stakeholder Pressures: threats, opportunities, demands, constraints and uncertainties stakeholders present an organization. Pressures range from severe to minimal.

Multidimensional outcomes: the explicit things that an organization desires to achieve over a given period of time:

  • Performance objectives: the results it wants to achieve over a given period.

  • Process objectives: how it wants to achieve its results.

  • Position outcomes: what it wants to be capable of doing after the given period.

  • Learning outcomes: the knowledge it wants to capture and share over the given period.

  • Culture outcomes: who it wants to be as an entity, and as a community member, after the given period.
